The Pinnacles are one of the most popular day destinations out of Perth. With the construction of the new Indian Ocean road, it allows the Nambung National Park where the pinnacles are found, to only be a couple of hours drive north along the coast. How these formations were created is still somewhat of a mystery. Many of the Pinnacles resemble animal life such as Kangaroo, Dolphins, Elephants, Whales and even Batman. Most people visiting the site are able to identify some other pinnacle resembling much more than just a limestone structure!
There are some great coastal towns to visit such as Cervantes, which are also the home of some of the most ancient living organism called Stramotolites and found in only a few places around the world, these particular ones at Lake Thetis are over 3500 years old, and have no natural predators due to the salinity of the lake.
Cervantes is also in the heart of Export Grade Lobster fishing territory, and you are able to purchase fresh lobster locally.
It certainly does help to be driving a hummer if you want to visit some of the coastal sand dunes which are vast and forever changing. The Indian Ocean road took some time to construct because of the windblown region, continually moving the sand across the proposed road. We will often see what looks like fog or a sand storm when traveling up to the Pinnacles
The river is calm and protected, then opens into the Indian Ocean. This is a popular spot for keen fishermen to catch large fish species, and our tours give you the opportunity to throw a line in while lunch is being prepared. You may get lucky and catch some of the local fish such as Brim in the river through to Snapper, Salmon, Travelly, Samson Fish, King Fish, Flathead or any number of species.
The Caversham Wildlife Park has quality facilities where you will be able to get up close, touch and feed some of the native animals on the "A" list to see while in Australia such as Kangaroos, Koalas, Wombat, Dingos and other native animals. It is a great opportunity to take some unforgettable photos.
Sandalford Winery in Swan Valley is on the way back to Perth City and we visit there daily if time permits. Sandalford is not only famous for its wines, but also attracting big name musicians to perform in concert on their huge lawn areas, called evening on the green.
The Swan Valley is home to many wineries, and half day or day tours to undertake wine tasting can be organised through Hummer Safaris WA.

Guilderton, at the mouth of the Moore river would have to be one of the most spectacular locations north of Perth to visit. We visit this on the way back from the pinnacles for lunch. The Moore river breaks through to the sea for a few months of the year, and is an amazing site to see.

Guilderton's landmark is the Light House, which we also use to navigate by while four wheel driving our way toward the holiday town of Guilderton.
Lunch! is undertaken at the cervantese pinnacles resort, Chef comes and puts together a rang of local fresh options for us exclusively.
